I know how hard it must be to find a school to study kung fu, especially when you make this decision for the first time. The most important part in choosing a school of Kung Fu is not the school itself, but you.
I have been living in Dengfeng since my childhood and my advice for you is choosing the school in which you can find the right master and understand his message and way of teaching, clearly. After all, no matter how qualified your Master is, you must feel a strong bond with them.
At first, you will learn very simple things, but you shouldn’t forget them: do not expect that any school will open it’s secrets on a web page. It can open a pathway to them, but takes time and focus. Be patient, calmly study the materials, talk with mentors and try to find out more about what you like and what you don’t. The biggest secret that we can share: stay calm in choosing, try to feel and trust your judgement.
Choosing a school as well as choosing a master is your choice, so you need to listen to yourself. We try to provide a comprehensive picture and believe this helps Shaolin kung fu in Dengfeng.
My history of kung fu started from early childhood. Despite the fact that we had a difficult situation in our country – there was a poverty and I did not have much of a choice what to do – I always wanted to study kung fu, and I found myself immersed in it. I feel comfortable with kung fu, I feel that I am in the right place.
Previously I have visited many countries abroad with demonstrative performances throughout my 15 years training and teaching. And I’m still doing it today.
Since 2002, by invitation from different countries, I have travelled with a group performing shows of the Shaolin kung fu. At that time I met my first foreign students and had some practice in such foreign languages like English, German, French. I have taught international students in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Holland, Denmark, Turkey, the United States etc.
Everyone has their own way. We all have our destiny and use our experience and skills. Every city, every country has a Master and we all spread the culture of Shaolin, as a martial art and as Chan Buddhism, across the world.
I feel my calling to be at home, in China, surrounded by the native mountains of Songshan. This is why my school was founded here, near the Shaolin Temple. Most of my students are children from my native village, where I was born.
I’ve never invited foreign students, all of those who come know of my travels and experience. They continue coming.
We used to see each other when my students wanted to improve their skills, and now they come to improve skills of their own students. Of course, I remember everything, and I feel happy about it. Potential students don’t know me personally yet, so I decided to open my web page for you. I decided that this is a good start: getting to know me this way.
If you don’t understand something, you can write to me personally through the feedback form.
